Brown Rice

Brown Rice is a whole grain as it is less processed than White Rice. The White Rice processing includes removal of its hull, bran and germ. Whereas, Brown Rice processing include only hull removal and bran & germ is left untouched. This difference in processing makes Brown Rice more nutritional than the White Rice.

When it comes to calories and carbohydrates, Brown Rice and White Rice, both have similar amount of it. But, since processed less, Brown Rice is considered as whole grain and is a very good source of magnesium, phosphorus, selenium, thiamine, niacin, vitamin B6, and manganese, and is high in fiber.

Thus, being rich in fiber and other nutrients, Brown Rice is often considered as a healthy diet food and prescribed by many Dieticians round the globe.
